“ Food was amazing and drinks were on point. The waiter was one of a kind! He had awesome customer service and has an outstanding personality. Wonderful place to dine! ”
“ Had a great brunch at Kalaka Berkeley! I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely massive, so definitely come hungry. It was packed with eggs, crispy potatoes, melty cheese, and I opted for chorizo instead of bacon, which added a great smoky, savory kick. The whole thing was smothered in their delicious green chile, which had just the right level of heat without overpowering the flavors. The service was friendly and accommodating, even with our large party. Everyone's food looked fresh and well-prepared. One friend got the chicharrones, which were freshly fried to crispy perfection and came with a creamy avocado salsa that balanced the richness really well. Another friend had the breakfast bowl, which was loaded with fresh ingredients, a choice of meat, and a flavorful sauce. Overall, Kalaka is a solid brunch spot with great portion sizes, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out! ”
“ Have seen Kalaka before in Berkeley but haven't been able to try it out until now. Kalaka shares the same building with Call to Arms Brewing. As a result, you can order from Kalaka's and eat it at Call to Arms. They have a QR menu at the tables in Call to Arms to advertise this. The menu is expansive ranging from shareable apps of wings, nachos, fries to family meals, to single street tacos. I ordered the Asada and Chicken Tacos. They were good - I've had worse and I've had better street tacos. The order was ready pretty quickly and was fun to eat Kalaka while sipping on beer from Call to Arms. Would go again. ”
“ Ordered from Kalaka while visiting the neighboring brewery. Used the online menu to place a quick order for some tacos to go. Food was ready quickly but did not come packaged with utensils and napkins so my friend had to go back for those items since the tacos were filled with ingredients and a little messy. Our tacos did have nice spice and flavor. My fish taco had a good size piece of fish with a sweet jalapeño glaze and chipotle sauce. The Al Pastor taco was good, just way too many onions and there was no grilled pineapple as described on the menu. Overall, ok for street tacos. ”
“ Love this place, the drinks are my favorite and the food is really good too. My boyfriend and I have enjoyed coming during happy hour in the week days and have received the best service every time. Areli and Gerardo were really friendly and made us feel like regulars! ”
“ So good! When we sat down at Call to Arms we were stoked for Mexican next door. We ordered right from our table and got a variety of street tacos. The nachos and the guac...out of this world. ”
“ This place is so cute! They have an indoor and outdoor patio that you can sit at. We were sat right by the large openings to the patio, which allowed us to get some natural light and fresh air. We ordered drinks and food from our server, who was welcoming and happy to make recommendations. The drinks were great! We also did a margarita flight, which was delightful and very aesthetic. The food was also great! The salsa sampler was spicy and kept us reaching for more. Definitely plan to return! ”
“ An astounding Mexican food place. The maiz was a wonderful appetizer and the tacos would bring me back again and again. Unfortunately their Mexican salad could have used a bit more ingredientes for the price, a bummer but when adding the beef, everything aligned. Our waited was quick and educated and all of their seating looked perfect. ”
“ So glad we found this place for Happy Hour! They have an awesome selection of margaritas, perfect to pair with tacos on a Tuesday. The Coco-jalapeño margarita was incredibly unique and tasty. We also ordered the Al Pastor wings. Wished they were more crispy, but the flavors were bomb. Came with a pineapple salsa and creamy dipping sauce. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great meal! ”
